Cottage

The Cottage is closed for winter, but it is fun to think ahead for next Spring.

The Matzinger Cottage is located on the East side of Lower Herring Lake near Frankfort, MI. The original cabin is believed to have been brought to its site over the frozen lake. A beautiful stone fireplace was added. Little by little, the cottage was brought into more modern times while not loosing any of the original cottage charm. It remains part of the history of Lower Herring Lake.

There is a sitting porch with a beautiful view of the lake, an eating area, comfortable living room, a master bedroom and additional bedroom, two full bathrooms, clothes washer and dryer and a comfortable kitchen with dishwasher in addition to all the basic comforts.

The Cottage has has a beautiful view of Lower Herring Lake, yet sits back from the lakefront for more privacy but has its own dock and sandy area in front.

It is available for rental by the week beginning in April through September.
